Muslim devotees to observe shab-e-barat tonight!

The Shab-e-Baraat is the night of blessings and worship of the Allah, the 15th night of Shaban, eighth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is known as Shab-e-Baraat while it is known as Laylatul Bara’ah or Laylatun Nisfe min Sha’ban in the Arab world.



Seek divine blessings:
This is a special night to seek numerous blessings, that’s why Muslim devotees offer special prayers, recite from the holy Quran, hold milad, zikr and perform other religious rituals throughout the night, seeking divine blessings for the wellbeing of mankind.



Activities performed by various organizations:
Several religious organizations and socio cultural organizations conduct different Islamic activities like milads, durood shareef, and several different prayers. Islamic foundations also organize such activities that honor the teachings of beloved Prophet Pbuh.

Sweet dishes for this occasion:
Muslim also visits the graves of their relatives and Muslim saints and distributes sweets and homemade food among the poor, their neighbors, friends and relatives

Special programmes:
TV channels also host several programs on this night in order to seek blessings. TV and radio stations air special programmes while newspapers run articles, highlighting the significance of the night.
